IN THE MIDDLE OF

VOLCANO MOUNTAINS WE MAKE EXCEPTIONAL WINES

The Fischer winery is located between seven volcanic mountains. Exceptional wines are grown here on 80 hectares. In 2002, the Fischer family began planting the first 15 hectares. From the beginning, the focus was on producing high-quality wines. This can only be achieved by a low yield per vine. Therefore, 6,500 vines were planted per hectare in order to harvest only half the yield of around 1-1.5 kg per vine. This results in extremely dense wines. In combination with the volcanic red soil, this produces wines that have an enormous minerality.

This is also the reason why white wines also have great storage potential and, depending on the variety, often only provide optimal drinking pleasure after 2-3 years.

9 varieties are grown on around 80 hectares, 1/3 of which are white wine and 2/3 red wine. White wines: Sauvignon blanc, Pinot blanc, Chardonnay and Szürkebarát (Pinot Grigio) Red wines: Zweigelt, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet franc
